Q

What’s included in my rent?

A

Your rent will cover your fully furnished room, electricity, gas, heat, hot water, WiFi, monthly cleaning of the common areas, access to discounts and perks courtesy of our local and national partners, and monthly community events. We consolidate any/all fees you would pay with a typical rental into one, simple, monthly charge. It helps take the confusion out of renting, and leaves you more time to spend on what counts!

Are pets allowed?

A

While we love animals, we never know who may be allergic or feel uncomfortable with them in the apartment. As a result, pets, unfortunately, are not currently permitted in our shared units. However, we do have studios and one bedrooms that are pet friendly!

Are couples allowed?

Couples are allowed to rent our studio and one bedroom units!

Is rent negotiable?

A

While the rent is non negotiable, we have numerous options with prices that vary based on location and length of stay.

Can you tell me about my potential roommates?

A

We can provide basic information like gender, school or occupation, and any other general details they may have shared with us. While keeping the roommates’ privacy in mind, we want to tell you as much as possible to insure you feel comfortable with your new living dynamic!

What is the security deposit for?

A

A security deposit is used to ensure the safety of our units and our members during a member’s stay. The deposit is held as a safety measure, and returned within 14 days after moving out, assuming there is no damage to the room or furniture. To us, transparency is key. We believe that you should know what your money is going towards, and why.

What is the enrollment fee?

A

The enrollment fee covers all aspects of joining our community! It is also what grants you access to our events, discounts, and perks as a member of Roomrs.

What is the difference between the application fee and the enrollment fee?

A

The application fee covers the cost of your initial application and background check.The enrollment fee covers: all monthly cleaning services, move ins/outs, access to our community events, and discounts as a member of Roomrs. Both of these are one time fees. If you decide to renew your stay with Roomrs (at your current apartment or another in our inventory), you will not be charged these fees again.

How can I secure the room?

A

Once you’ve found a room you’re in love with, the application fee will secure a room for 24 hours while you complete your application.

Can I request certain types of roommates?

A

Roomrs is a community where we pride ourselves on our acceptance of all backgrounds. We do our best to accommodate all requests to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. That being said, there is no guarantee regarding who your roommate will be. However, all members are carefully screened prior to approving their applications to ensure living situations are as harmonious as possible.

How long are leases?

A

Our current lease terms are flexible and range anywhere from 3-12 months.

Can I extend my lease after it ends?

A

Yes! 45 days before your lease ends, you will receive an email from management providing the option to extend your lease. You can renew your lease for 3-12 more months, at your current location, or you can choose to move to another location in our inventory for no additional fees.

Can I get a list of all furnishings supplied?

A

Because each apartment varies in size and amenities, we cannot supply unique lists of all included furnishings. Having said that, you can expect all necessary furniture to be provided, as well as art, basic kitchenware, and sheets and towels. Our design team encourages you to check our virtual tours to see how each apartment is uniquely designed and furnished!

How does the monthly cleaning work?

A

Once a month, a cleaning crew will enter the apartment and clean the shared spaces thoroughly. Bedroom cleanings also occur, but only bedroom cleanings only prior to your move in and after you move out.

Who can I contact about maintenance issues?

A

Maintenance related issues are the responsibility of the individual building’s landlord. Having said that, Roomrs is here to be your advocate during your time with us. If you’re having trouble getting in touch with the landlord, having issues regarding furnishings or roommates, or have general questions/concerns you can email us at support@roomrs.co and our Customer Service team will assist you!

Who is my point of contact if I have an issue not related to maintenance?

A

For any questions or concerns, you can reach us at support@roomrs.co. This will create a support ticket for your particular issue, and our Customer Service team will either help you directly, or point you to the resources necessary to assist you.

Can I add/remove things from my room or apartment?

A

Although you cannot remove any items from the apartment, you can personalize the space however you and your roommates see fit! All additions just need to be removed upon move-out and no damages can be made in the process.

Will you have tours at my apartment?

A

Yes, our Sales team will need to occasionally access your apartment to show the apartment to potential new members when/if there is a vacant room. Having said that, you will be notified in advance so you are aware and can plan accordingly. You should never be caught off guard or surprised by a staff member accessing your apartment without warning.
